Pride in Utrecht comes to life every year during the Rainbow Festival. A partnership of six LGBTQIA+ organisations in the city that celebrate the unity of people from different genders, sexes and backgrounds.
Adversary:
Disunity: a divided community. Groups of isolated letters; colors on a flag that don’t understand each other.
The community can feel divided, while in reality we’re all fighting the same fight. Especially during COVID times, there was a need for unity and togetherness, even though we weren’t exactly together. The Rainbow Festival wanted to embrace all of our differences and likenesses at the festival, which that year was held largely online due to COVID. ‘We are one’ was a proud statement showing how the movement is still alive, ever since it began so many years ago.
What unites us is far greater than what divides us.
The campaign featured many members of the community both in front of and behind the camera. We’re proud we got to work on such a proud statement for the community.
The campaign calls for unity, because everything that divides us is nothing in comparison to what unites us. Through the lens of many different people in the community, we told a collective story about unity, being one, and getting ready for a really, really good party this year.
